Day 149 in Japan - Goodbye Shimizu

Today at Shimizu there was no evacuations or earthquake DVDs, just a fairly bland day. There was supposed to be an ESS meeting, but none of the kids showed up. I guess they are just as lazy as me! I was ready with an activity for a change, as well! Otherwise, I just knocked together the lesson plans for next year's first lesson, did a lot of marking at a reasonable pace, and ate a brownie (from a nice teacher who noticed I had no lunch). I also got 5 kg of rice from Kobayashi-sensei! She is so lovely - she has previously brought me eggplants, capsicums and broccoli from her garden, but 5 kg of rice really ups the ante.

I did some Christmas shopping for my ESS club on the way home, picked up some decorations from Daiso, did a bit of present wrapping, watched House, started the battle of the housework, and finally talked to Mum and Dad and Grugg and Pam via Skype with REALLY BAD 300 yen wine from 7-11.

Food Highlight of the Day: Sour Cream and Onion Pringles. Found them for the first time in Japan, and scarfed them all!
