Day 152 in Japan - Emperor's Birthday Holiday

Today is a national holiday in Japan - the Emporer's Birthday. For me today, this meant a day with Sam! These have been pretty thin on the ground lately - our work schedules really don't allow for much tim to hang out together.

We didn't do very mugh - we mostly just hung around home and cooked a lot - chocolate chip cookies and mince meat for mince pies. We headed out for dinner, and did some shopping and did very little else.
LOCAL PUDDING. A PUDDING FROM AKASHI!
After a day or two to "macerate", this will be mince pies.
Epic lunch is epic. Although it has affected Sam in an unusual way...
Our chocolate gingerbread house - a house made of chocolate. The Japanese writing says: (left bottom) Happy New Year (left top) Sam, (right top) Bri, (right bottom) Merry Christmas! There is also a picture of a cat.
Food Highlight of the Day: Steak and Salad Bar at new restaurant in the Vivre/SATY restaurant strip.

That is a brilliant gingerbread/chocolate house. Love the cat.
